He's speeding, in a car that he doesn't own, and that none of the occupants own. Not only doesn't he have a drivers license, but he never had one in his life...... the car reeks of marijuana, and the cops find two bags of pot in the car. This happened on the 13th .... talk about a cover-up and a lenient police dept. Wow!

Sabanade,
good find. Some of the quotes in this
article are comical:
No charges were filed because none of the
players was in possession of marijuana and the car did not belong to them. "They did not determine nor did anyone
admit to the possession of the marijuana itself," Barber said.
Seriously?? Define possession. And wouldn’t the cop be able to see immediately
from running their names that one of them has a previous marijuana possession
charge. And we’re kind of left hanging
about the car, I assumed it was borrowed.
"I think as soon as he
gets his license, the charge probably will be dismissed,” Gainesville attorney
Huntley Johnson told the Gainesville Sun's Robbie Andreu, who first reported
the charge. "That’s the way it’s usually handled in a case like this for a
citizen, and he’s a citizen."

So, just looked it up and see that Defensive Coordinator D.J. Durkin is the interim Florida coach for the bowl game. Anyone know if new HC McElwain is retaining him full time? And what other assistants are still around to help prepare for the game in this situation?
With this being a later bowl game, from a motivational standpoint only (Matchup, Talent review aside) is it reasonable to consider that Florida is not focused and going through the motions in practice with a limited, non-permanent?? coaching staff leading the way. And East Carolina off a brutal finish in the loss to Central Florida. One would hope they're focused and getting prepared to come back strong after that type of loss.
Motivation wise -- tough to really cap motivation, just talk through all motivation scenarios and see which is most viable -- I'd lean East Carolina +7. Question becomes, is Florida's talent level too much alone to overcome. I'd say no given UF's inconsistent offense / QB play all season.

TD, it is a screwed up situation down there that is almost impossible to predict the team's motivation for their bowl game in dogsh*t, nearly condemned Legion Field against ECU. Durkin is not being retained by McElwain, but will be coaching the bowl game..... while also trying to find a new defensive coaching position elsewhere?!? All the while, McElwain and new DC Collins, from Miss St., will be off-hands for the bowl game. Instead, they will focus on recruiting and completing their staff.
So, will Durkin try to prove to the world (and to McElwain) that he can coach and go ballz out to win this game, or will he tank it on purpose and tell them to eff off? I know that ECU feels like they should have beaten South Carolina earlier in the year, and this will be a prime opportunity to knock off a well known SEC school.
