A better question would be this: Does Alabama have to be behind at halftime, or in danger of losing to Florida for Sims to get the hook? Would Saban make the change with a lead?
I think that most Bama faithful are waiting for the reigns to be handed over to Coker......curious to see what needs to unfold for the change to be made.

Saban is having low confidence on Coker so far. There's been a few times where he missed deep passes to wide open receivers. Two things I noticed about Coker is that he's not aware of situations during a game, especially when the offense nearing the goal line.

IMO vern until otherwise i think Sims has earned the right to be the starter. Now 3 weeks from now that may change but until he stinks it up ride the hot hand in Sims

LOL...Kiffin has done wonder with Sims, and this Offense with him at QB is probably more dangerous and harder to defend than with AJ last year because of his ability to run.
Sims and Coker are where they are supposed to be because they both earned where they are at. There is no consideration as to when Coker replaces him. And Alabama is not losing to Florida either.

I think something that is interesting for this game is Saban and Muschamp are close so If Bama's up say 24-10 with 10 mins left does Nick take his foot off the gas?

Sims has just been flat out better, much better , than Coker at this point... Sims gives Bama something they've never had, a REAL threat to run with a QB... I don't see Saban sitting Sims unless he loses a game himself... And that's hard to do in an Alabama offense..... Lane Kiffin is doing an amazing job of managing Blake.. And he's got the offense getting the ball quickly to the playmakers, or Blake leaving the pocket.. Only a matter of time before Blake starts tossing deep balls to wide open WRs because the defense is playing the box... Bama will be extremely hard to beat by the end of the season!!

I agree that Sims has earned the right to start...he has been in the program, and has earned the respect of his teammates, and Saban is a loyal guy; to a point.
As for Sims giving Alabama a true "run threat", I would hold off judgement on that one for a bit. Running passed Southern Miss and FAU does nothing for me at all. WVU also plays a lot of zone, so there are opportunities on the ground. I do not see Sims running for much against Florida.
A few guys have praised Lane Kiffin in his handling of Sims. Admittedly I am not a Kiffin fan...I have seen him ruin more QB's at USC than he has developed. All I have seen Kiffin do this season is stand next to Saban and try not to munson things up.

What? With 10 minutes to play a 14 point lead is not safe. A 21 point lead is also not be safe. For a coach to feel safe he would have to lead by 24+ with less than 5 minutes to play. So to answer your question, Saban would continue to run his offense much like the game were tied or he had a 3 point lead. But he never runs a hurry up offense anyway. The standard offense would still be in order, with very few passes.

They said Simms stunk it up Spring and Summer then a scrimmage the light came on.He has not only won the job he has launched himself in the Heisman Race if he keeps performing the way he has.He throws a great deep ball, accurate passer,he runs well and his teammates love him.Great to see a 5year senior bust his behind after the media was practically trying to give Coker the Heisman.Bama has another great team. They would destroy FSU.

I feel bad for SIMS, the guy is playing his butt off, showing a lot of heart in a high pressure situation...i dont think u guys understand how well he has performed, on top of that he earned it...
U guys just want the white guy to throw the ball, i get it, go ahead and crown him then!

That's exactly the problem. Now Sims is the a time leader for yardage in a game by an Alabama QB and you still want people that want him benched.

Well, I think that Sims is the guy for this season....
23/33 445 4td/1pick Outstanding performance. Coker may want to transfer; again.
The beauty of a guy like Coker, is that he may never start in college, but still may become an NFL QB.....ala Matt Cassel at USC.
Blake is done after this year, and Coker still has 1 more year....... He just needs to stay there, keep learning the offense, and light it up next year with possibly the best defense Bama will have since 2011....

I am a white male from the south and being a Bama fan and a football fan in general I don't care what color the QB is as long as he is the best option to win the game. Saying that Saban doesn't give a crap either what color or what year in the system the player is in he will play the better player. Until Brodie Croyle played at Bama from 03-05 Andrew Zow was the all time career passing leader at Alabama. Guess what color skin he has. At most schools the backup QB is the most popular player not playing on the field especially when there is a QB battle going on. I thought Coker would be the guy but must say now that Sims has impressed me and I have no problem with him at the QB position.
