Just a humble opinion you understand, but the Rangers position is not hopeless today by any means. Price versus Garrado, AT Toronto, has been elevate to “lock” status at over -200. In the playoffs? Hmm.
Consider: When a guy like Garrado posts a 3.42 era with a hitter’s home park like the Rangers have, and a less than 2:1 K/BB ratio and a 1.42 whip, he must be doing something right. The right things for Gallardo are a home run only once every 12.29 innings and a GB/FB ratio of 1.46:1. Those are impressive. If the Jays find it difficult to elevate the ball, they are much less likely to blow anyone out.
There is no compelling reason to compliment a super stud like Cy Young contender Price so let me just say that at least a lefty to swing at is much in the Rangers favor. All they did down the stretch was go 10-3 versus lefty starters and although you can’t put Santiago or Paxton in Price’ class, you certainly can Keuchel, and those three guys were the three losses. In the 13 games down the stretch the Rangers scored 55 earned runs in only 56 innings for on offensive era of 8.84 per 9.
This s**t is never as “E-Z” as it looks, so I am NOT laying over 2 bucks with Price and NOT taking the Rangers as a "value play" because of the probability that the Jays actually do win. No value, no play. For good reason.
