The late inning defensive replacement and double switch will be in play here to limit his exposure I would guess.

Nof afraid of the balls hit right at him Tigermike i think he can handle those.  I guess if he plays just deep enough to keep balls from going over his head and then Granderson can help with the range.  Anyways SF will probably win tonight but i was really hoping for the Cards like i have said a little revenge for 06.  Can't wait for this series to get going.  GO TIGS

Looks like we get the easy team from the National League.  Oh well a series win is a series win.

Man it sure is nice that our starting pitcher tomorrow night comes into this game with a combined ALDS AND ALCS ERA of 0.82.  And the SF fans think they are going to score a ton of runs on this STUD of a pitcher.  Just like the 84 Tigers with Jack unhittable Morris on the mound.

I believe Jack later went to the Twins and helped them win their first title in 87, with Kirby and co. if I remember.  Hrbek and co. I think Carew was gone but maybe Oliva was there.  Later Lyman Bostock would arrive and tragically pass away.  I remember Sparky Anderson being very gracious in defeat to the Twins and I really thought he showed a lot of class. Twinkies have really fallen on hard times since the days of Killebrew, Allison, Kaat, etc.  I am rooting for Tigers although SF have many backers here,

Yep he did help the Twins win a title.  Putting Jack on the mound was almost a guarantee win.  And your right there are a lot of San Fran band wagon fans coming out of the woodwork.  I think a lot of them saw last nights game and jumped on their bandwagon.  This will be a good series can't wait for it to start and i really think our starting rotation will be the difference.  GO TIGERS

Yea a lot of Giants support out there, that is cool but there won't be 3-1 series comeback this time because Mr. Verlander will be pitching game five. Pressure big time on Giants to get at least a split in the first two games.

I'm like a little kid on Christmas eve can't wait for the first pitch tomorrow night.  Nice to see motorcitymamma make her return to the thread would have hate to go through the series without her comments.   Us Tiger backers got to stick together.   I wish i knew a little more of what the Tigers did to stay sharp during the 6 day layoff may have a touch of rust but they are all pretty close and they will pull it all back together one thing is they should be well rested. I have a feeling some of the Giant supporters will be in here bashing a bit but thats ok all part of the World Series.

Tigermike she is Christmas morning and time to open the presents.  Oh look what i got Justin Verlander i think i will start him in game 1 of the 2012 World Series.  GO Tigers GO

Man i'm looking forward to this.  Lets us not forget the last time they won the world series it was against a west coast team they also had the odd game in the series and how did we do there oh yeah it was four straight started with two in San Diego and two more at grand old Tiger Stadium and she was over.  Not saying four straight this time but we will win this series.

OK, Zito looks far from being sharp tonight.

Let's show them how it's done, Justin   1-2-3
