Got it. You have playnow.com which is parlay only and legal. Then you also have not legal offshore for single game wagering and your government does not attempt to tie up your ability to fund and offshore account like the our government does.

The interesting part of all this is that if bill C-290 would pass, everyone in Canada could single game wager at the casinos and all of the losses would go to OLG to better help the Canadian economy instead of into the coffers of the offshore companies.

I see sports betting is coming to California. It will be for California residents only. Take that Canada. You are slowly going to lose any revenue that you might have gotten for your citizens. Eventually, all the progressive states will have sports betting revenue for their residents.

Checkout Jon Campbell's news article of Friday May 24/13 which looks optimistic. There is a website and Twitter feed you can follow to see if we can bet single-game football this year. c290now.ca

The "Legal and Constitutional Affairs" committee have meetings scheduled for 6/12/13 and 6/13/13. There is no agenda listed yet but this is the committee that handles bill C-290.

There's a rally tomorrow at 10 AM at Windsor's Charles Clark Square (the oval-shaped downtown ice rink across from Caesars). Brian Masse, the bill's chief supporter in the House of Commons, will speak to a conglomeration of union, government, and business leaders on just how important it is to expedite this piece of legislation.

It would appear that the committee meetings on June 12 and June 13 only discussed bill c-51. It also appears they are set to discuss same on June 18 as well. Did c-290 get pushed to the fall sitting? Did they discuss this at the rally?

Not sure that website provides any new/unpublished/inciteful information. It would appear this wasn't discussed in committee at all last week.

That site is sponsored by Canadian Gaming. It's an industry group. As of these last 2 days, it's gonna be front-page news if they call a vote.

What are the odds the Senate does anything with this?

It's still very much alive, but the waiting is the hardest part. The Senate could pass it in October. It's such a no-brainer they could just decide to snap to it and justify their existence.

hoping it happens come october. doubt it though, theyve delayed it multiple times and they are just going to keep delaying it so they dont have to vote.

What gets me is the people against it. gambling ruined my life and blah blah blah. Please you had a problem, only you can fix it, don't make me suffer for your problem. Theres tons of responsible gamblers out there who dont risk their house on the patriots, yes there are irresponsible people but whats with the growing trend of making responsible citizens for actions done by a minority of irresponsible people.

Now that the American courts and government are killing New Jerseys' chances for sports betting of any kind, Canada has a chance of some windfall American money if this is passed. They will be surprised at how much money will be bet, in Canada, by Americans.
