I really don't know what Vegas is thinking on this one. I'm guessing they're expecting an emotional letdown. That's somewhat of a valid perspective here, but why can't they duplicate a nice performance with another nice performance against a team they should beat AT home?
I don't care about stats on this other than the Hornets are let's just call it, the worst team in basketball in February and even as far back as the last 15 games. I would include the Nets, but honestly, they aren't even mention worthy at this point.
The Hornets were sitting pretty at 21-12 about a month ago and things were looking good. Since then they're 3-12 and have shown no signs of any kind of turn around. They are 8-20 on the road and their last road win was December 28. They're 3-9 on the road and clearly aren't even beating the teams they're supposed to. I'm not exactly sure what caused this meltdown, but it's a meltdown to say the least.
The Kings I like to believe are a group of guys with something to prove. Even before the trade they were always in the headlines and it was usually something negative surrounding Cousins. It's been a long time coming I believe for his departure, and I'll go out on a limb and say that the majority of the franchise is relieved and can now start to refocus without all the negative drama.
I'm not sure how far they can go as is, but after last nights win common logic would think it'd be a good morale boost considering they are already in playoff contention and just beat a team ahead of them. These guys are pros and have had a day off to digest the win and talk about things in practice. I don't see any reason why I would bet against them as home dogs against a team who is 1-7 in February. I'll take my chances on that "emotional" perspective not being as valid of a perspective as the perspective of the "Hornets just suck right now".

Pretty easy game here in my opinion. You've got maybe the most potent offense in the NBA right now from a depth perspective in the Houston Rockets.
As stated earlier, the addition of Lou Williams to what the Rockets already had in place is somewhat unfair. This only upgrades their stock, and I personally think it upgrades it substantially. Not only is this guy a veteran and one of the most consistent sixth men in the league, but his significance is more magnified when you have a guy like James Harden, who is primarily a shooting guard able to run point guard with the switching in of Beverly. The Rockets literally never miss a beat all game long AND they're able to balance everyone's minutes.
The first we've seen them was two nights ago against New Orleans. It worked out about as well as could be. I expect them to be THE highest scoring team in the league in this second stretch of the season.
The Wolves are also playing good ball, given their lack of depth. I expected Wiggins to have a drop off two weeks ago, but he's still plugging away dropping 30 almost every game and shooting right around 50%. Everyone has been required to do more with the absence of Lavine, even Rubio is four points above his season average over the past ten games. They still lack depth, and I think it's going to hurt them significantly with five to six games to go in the regular season, but for now we can expect good things on offense from them.
I'll chalk Houston up for 125 in this one and I expect the Wolves to get what they need for an easy cover on the over.

Hehe. You're exactly right. I got carried away and was just feeling a little Giggity giggity during the time I was writing the post for reasons I can't say.

Thanks man. Was super super confident in it. Sad that I had to cancel out a play like that for a terrible pick like the Kings. That wasn't bad luck, that was just straight up bad picking.
Props to Rod Steele for taking the Hornets. His perspective was the right one, not even in just hindsight.
