The Clippers enter this game having lost 6 in a row to the Warriors! A one-time rivalry is a rivalry no longer. As good as the Warriors are, or have been, there is no reason for them to keep winning at this rate against a team as good as the Clippers. This is an anomaly (of course, a lot of it had to do with Doc opening his mouth last year and calling the Warriors lucky to have won the title) and sooner or later, the Clippers are going to win one. This year, the Clippers are better than they have been in a while. That is no secret. Look at how they dismantled the Cavs in a nationally televised statement game.
The Warriors come into this game a public darling, off a big win against a tired and talentless Indiana squad that beat the Clippers the previous night, with Klay scoring 60 in 29 minutes. All this is great for Clippers backers—Klay’s big game, the Warriors overconfidence coming into this one, and the fact that Indiana beat the Clippers in a massive look-ahead spot. The Clippers were winning that game by double-digits, only to fall sleep at the wheel because they could not take their eyes off the impending game with the Warriors. That tells us that the Clippers, who have been off since Sunday night, will be more than ready tomorrow night in a huge statement game against a rival that not only has won 6 in a row and is a media darling and anointed champion, but also embarrassed them in a preseason game this year that the Clippers lost at home by 45 points. If you recall, the Warriors did the same thing to the Clippers last year (in a preseason game), and in their first matchup at Oracle, the Clippers had a double digit lead in the 4th in a game they should have won (though they did cover). The next game was in LA and the Clippers had a twenty-point lead that they managed to cough up.
This year’s Clippers team is better than last year’s and this year’s Warrior team is still a work in progress. Don’t let their big wins against lousy teams fool you. They have lost to the Spurs and Rockets, two of the better teams in the NBA, and beaten most of the mediocre to bad teams. The Warriors team defense is not as good as the Clippers and neither is their chemistry. The Clippers are a very difficult team to cap, because you never know how motivated they will be. But tomorrow, you will get their best effort, which should be good enough. And if you are thinking conspiracy theories, the league would like nothing better than to make this old rivalry a rivalry again, and create some drama and excitement in a season that promises to have very few surprises. I would wait to see if the line moves up even more, as more money comes in on the Warriors.

That part in bold is a mistake. It was the Clippers who won by 35 in preseason. But that does not change things for this game.

Very pretty spot for the Clippers. I'll probably be on them as well. Those last two Warriors blowout wins were smoke and mirrors against teams in bad spots. Clips should be favored in this game.

Agree with you on Clips winning. Public is heavy on the Warriors due to the 60 pt performance from Klay and dominant win over Pacers who were playing on a back to back drained from beating the Clips.

I won't be betting the game. I hope the Clippers win, but GS will be more difficult to beat than you think. They've dominated the Clippers in their past games.
Also something to note: I pulled KD's stats against the Clippers for the past two seasons, and he's averaging close to mid 30s every game with 56% from the field. He's 4-1 against them in the games he played. I'd be expecting a big game from him.

GL tonight begginerboy, nice writeup. I jumped on the over 223.5 last night cause I see lots and lots of points from both teams and took Clippers 1st half earlier this morning and hoping for a better line on full game so I'll jump on Clippers if I get 5. The public should be GS after Klay's sick performance.

Scal had some thoughts about lebron facing the Knicks after Phils comments. 8.5 is kind of high but Knicks on back to back. Any thoughts?
Line was too high for a post. I'm done betting big road dogs as you know and 8.5 is a whopper of a spread (translates to 15.5 in Cleveland which is fairly insane). I'll just take my 33% return on the Cavs and go with the cowardly ML.

Warriors all day! The clippers bench sucks. The only way the Warriors lose is if the refs give Curry two quick fouls in the first quarter. Which is possible. Also that arena will have a large number of Warrior fans. I can't wait to watch this game tonight
