One of my favorite bands of all time. Had a ton of great songs ! Criss Oliva was one of the best guitarists of all time . It was sad that he was killed by a drunk driver and that the guy only got i think ten years for it. Their music stood the test of time way better than other bands from that era. They had great melody, searing guitars, insightful lyrics, and both singers were great. Nobody did it like Savatage in the 80's and early 90's.

Abso fukkin lutely!

Savatage was the shiit!

I personally would put them above and beyond 99.9% of the bands out there in that genre.  Their music and lyrics were stuff of legend.  Hall of the Mountain King was fantastic.  Edge of Thorns, Gutter Ballet, Dead Winter Dead (my favorite)... that's classic stuff.  I don't care what anybody says.

You know they lifted the phrase Hall of the Mountain King from a War song. Not that there is any thing wrong with that.
