#1 Posted: 2/16/2010 12:53:35 AM In this thread I'll post / link my favorite music - it's too tedious to make a new thread for each band-
Listening to my older CD's got me thinking about some of these that I hadn't heard in quite a while (except for occasionally on a rock-oriented station). Most will be older bands / songs-some popular, others obscure, so the younger guys might find something new to explore- the older guys might remember most of them-
The point isn't to debate who is "best", but rather share some music that I think is high quality that I haven't seen mentioned on this site (at least not lately)-
So, even though I like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, etc. as well as anyone, there are plenty of links already posted-
Enjoy, and feel free to comment or add selections-

One of my favorites during high school and early college- very underrated IMO- some of the videos are weak, but it was the '80's.

Veteran of the Psychic Wars - live- Buck Dharma solo
Sole Survivor - skip to 1:20
Joan Crawford - cheesy '80's video...

Crown of Thorns is a band he formed later- and their disc is very good, but I can find no way to load it-

I saw these guys (?) live on the quad at Jacksonville State University when I was a teenager- some funky dudes to invade a small southern town in the '80's-
And not just a little .
We all get Mulligan's-

#19 Posted: 2/17/2010 12:16:53 AM DSN 150, These guys have Blue Oyster Cult-like harmonies and even sound similar, albeit in a slightly less glossy-produced way in my opinion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDL9bXlwbM4&feature=related

Wow. I like that. It's got a Jeff Lynne/Fleetwood Mac vibe. I had never heard them before. I'm going to check this band out. |

Good stuff- I do like that- Agree a bit less polished maybe, but very nice nonetheless- That's what I was hoping might happen when I started this-
Keep 'em coming- I've got a few more yet to come-
