You can post a link to a site here, but then you are grouped with the guys who do so and cannot post in the main forums, like the others who also post in here.

You were boxed for posting a link while in the main forums, as that breaks the rules.

Its obvious why.

There is a conflict of interest and if one promotes here they are inclined to promote, farm, develop a following out there.

So yeah you need to post in here since you have done that, which was the point I was making in the help section.

Allowing touts/bloggers/spammers in the mains is a terrible idea.
