Amarillo Slim talks about this story I believe, in his book "A world full of fat people" 

Great book with lots of gambling stories, Doyle is mentioned a lot in the book as well

Scalabrine, Doyle is one of the rare poker players I actually respect. 

 However, I am confused and disappointed that you have not added another one of your racist slants to this story.
