I have been watching cricket all my life and last night i watched a bit of the IPL and heard something i have never heard before...

Gilchrist won the toss and elected to bowl....His main reason why he wants to chase is because of the short boundaries...

Mahela said the same thing.

I am all ears, can someone please explain to me why the short boundaries are an advantage to chasing...

I am pretty sure the distances to the boundaries are gonna stay the same the whole game...

What is the rational behind the theory...

LOL boundaries staying the same size

I hear the commentators talking about how in Twenty20 unlike the 50 over game how it is an advantage to bat second. I don't quite get it myself but these guys are more experience than me and I found this request article
