I don't think freak that FSU will be to the level the fans of the team want until manuel is gone. He in my opinion is too inconsistent. I think Fsu wins the acc and probably would win the orange bowl. But i think in getting there they'll lose to some team we don't expect. That's my opinion |

#52 Posted: 1/16/2012 9:22:34 PM I like Arkansas to come out of the SEC next year. It is going to be between USC, Oregon, and the usual surprise team. I wouldn't sleep on VA Tech, but the field as a whole is very thin next year. The SEC may very well have the 4 best teams in the country next year (sigh)

That is what I'd need to bet them. I put that out there before I saw the posted lines at the Greek and elsewhere where they are +400

#57 Posted: 1/20/2012 11:22:57 PM I think USC will definitely be one of the top teams in the nationnext season The biggest question is whether they can beat Oregon twice. I think the Ducks will be real tough again too.
They have an elite qb that will probably be the first pick in the NFL draft throwing to Robert Woods, and apparently Kiffin is moving Farmer back to RB which is where he played in high school. The guy can absolutely fly. He absolutely smoked De'Anthony Thomas in a 100 meter race in high school.
The wild card here is Kiffin. Kiffin winning a national championship??? Kind of hard to imagaine isn't it???

#58 Posted: 1/21/2012 5:24:05 PM The consensus right now has to be the USC/Oregon winner vs the winner of the SEC.
After LSU, Bama, USC, and Oregon, who are the next contenders?
Arkansas, Georgia, and VA Tech?

#59 Posted: 1/24/2012 4:15:14 PM I think the Big 12 is better without Mizzou and TAMU. TCU and WV are better teams, pretty easily imo. If both play a Big 12 schedule, that is 4 quality squads in the top 15.
Texas has all the talent of either Bama or LSU. We are just atoning for laziness in recruiting and a 5-star QB bust right now. Defense will be lights out next year and offense could have best RB combo in the country in Brown/Gray. O-line will be tremendously better. Just need Ash to be game manager ala McElroy.
Still think TX is one year away though.
OU doesn't have the defense next year, although much prefer Stoops over Venables so they could grow up fast. They lose both stud pass rushers, cb, Lewis, etc. Offense needs to adjust to not having Broyles, but they have tremendous WRs coming up in that program.
I think USC has depth issues that will really show this year. People don't understand the importance of it (yes, you Mr. Cowherd). The stud pass rusher they lost early is more important than most think.

If Les Miles can win one, then Lane Kiffin can.

I agree with this statement but I think losing Matt Kalil at LT is going to be a huge loss. He will most likely be a top 5 draft pick.
I like USC to win the Pac 12 next year and play for the national title. My concern is Barkely staying healthy though and USC probably having to beat Oregon twice next year.
One thing USC does have going for them is all the redshirts they had last year. I heard a radio report from L.A. that they redshirted something like 19 players last year.
I think with all the talent they have coming back(yes they will lose some key players, but what team isn't?) and the lack of quality teams and turnover in coaches within the Pac 12 equals a realistic run to the title game for the Trojans. |

#64 Posted: 1/28/2012 1:04:49 AM Per USC:
Woods was hurt all last year with a foot problem. He has had surgery and is doing well. He will be even better in 2012.
18 return starters.
Oregon's QB is gone. ASU QB gone. Stanford QB gone. Notre Dame still has the same quitter coach.
The D has come together. Bends, but dosen't break.
Kiffin is smarter than his detractors. Look at Tenn. Going nowhere.
Miami bound, no doubt. I only hope they run into one of those "no offense" SEC teams. |
