i need a new computer. my hp laptop is over three years old and it's about to tap out. think i'm going to just get a desktop again, my laptop bag just collects dust and now that phones do all they do, i'm rarely ever on the road long enough to justify a laptop over  a home cpu

what kind of good deals are there?

does this sound like a decent deal?

I guess it depends on what you want it to do with the new computer

May i suggest something else. The best way to kick some life into an old machine is to get a SSD harddrive (very expensive) and alternatively a hybrid disk.

Seagate make them. It is basically a normal hard drive with a 4 gb SSD cache.

It will boost your boot time, and the programs you choose and the web surfing you do.

I read in some article that it was the surest thing to make a noticeable change in your hardware.  More so than adding a new processor or rams. I think its about 100-150 for the hdd.

Do you need all the peripherals (keyboard, screen, mouse) or just the tower ?
