#2 Posted: 9/26/2012 12:17:37 PM good, now the announcers can get back to talking about how fast the game is and how difficult the refs' jobs are when they constantly darn up as they always have.

#7 Posted: 9/26/2012 1:20:24 PM isn't it customary for one of the sides to leak something like this to get the other side to give-in. I wouldn't be surprised if someone associated with the officials leaked something like this to get the media all fired-up and then force the owners into concessions they weren't willing to concede before.
the days of having 2-3 verifiable sources before reporting a story is gone in today's social media environment.

#13 Posted: 9/26/2012 3:58:14 PM according to http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/peter_king/09/26/referees-deal/index.html?eref=sihp&sct=hp_t11_a0 as of Wednesday afternoon, "A deal, however, is not imminent, according to one official who got an email from NFL Referees Association negotiator Scott Green early this afternoon. "He said we're making progress but not close to a deal right now''
