YIKES!!!!   Nanny state here we come.....

The political world was transfixed yesterday by the Obama campaign’s release of a Web slide show called “The Life of Julia.” It takes about two minutes to get through, and its purpose is to wow American women with all the glorious government goodies they can and should claim throughout their lives — just so long as Mitt Romney doesn’t get elected and take them all away.

It takes us on a chronological journey through Julia’s life. We stop every few years and are instructed about the ways in which government programs are cosseting her, guiding her, giving her a leg up, keeping her safe from harm and even graciously allowing her “not to worry about her health” so she can focus on her career as a Web designer.

A better life for Julia

The true difference in the future of America is right here.  Democrats want a nanny state.  Republicans believe in rugged Individualism.

IMO, human nature to vote for the party that promises you more stuff. (A life of comfort without struggle or effort, because it's fair.)

natural order of things I guess

there was something I had years ago explaining the different types of societies and the progression etc etc....in general the slope downward is when >50% are depending on the government for basic life and thus they vote for more more more and the spiral continues until  POOF

Obama's only purpose with Julia is to manipulate stupid people to vote for another lie, another broken promise.

I remember reading something like that myself. It was from an Italian intellectual from about the 16th century. Will never remember his name. But, IMO, he was very prescient with his thesis of, I believe, societies moving from democracies, to monarchies, and from tighter governments to more relaxed restrictions, ad infinitum. (sounding a little like Nietzsche’s “eternal recurrence)  Gonna look this up tonite.

Maybe even a sympton of Classical Athens. I don't know......
