#229 Posted: 6/28/2012 4:45:44 PM Hawks with 8 straight wins over the Blues, few large wins at Etihad but there encounters at the MCG have been close. Weather forecast is for late showers, going to be a cold wet night, one would expect a low scoring close game. Hawks to win by a few goals.

#233 Posted: 6/29/2012 2:34:19 PM Still no Sandilands for Freo, Collingwood have had some pretty decisive wins over Dockers. Aside Freo's win over Richmond they'd lost 10 straight at the MCG between 07-11 seasons. Some by rather large margins and under Ross Lyon, Freo have gone backwards.
Max forecast of 12'c in Melbourne today. I really think Dockers are in for a very dark day and they won't deal with the conditions like against Hawthorn down in Tassie.
Collingwood should win by over 100.
Collingwood -38.5 4u @ 1.98

Thanks nidiot.
This is fucked. All my leans on the other games last night that I didn't play cashed. Thought Pies were the best bet for the day. My other genius decision for the weekend was choosing Lions to cover 25 in the sportingbet 50k LMS comp.
After a lifetime of loathing Collingwood, really a kick in the guts. AFL is supposed to be one of my best sports, doing fine SU but the decision to take the points or the 1-39 are really friggin me.

#237 Posted: 7/5/2012 8:41:30 PM Really need to turn things around on AFL so going to be very selective to hopefully get back into the positive within the next few rounds.
St.Kilda losing Goddard and Blake really hurts them, think this is the best ATS bet for the round. Bombers have been on fire and Saints are really out of sorts and losing 2 key tall men. Bombers -19.5 is also my sportingbet LMS pick. Probably a good fade
Essendon -16.5 3u @ 1.91

#243 Posted: 7/6/2012 11:47:06 PM I do think North get cover/win here but I'm not betting it.
North have been in good form but are probably due to implode again and given it's down in Tassie no idea how West Coast will turn up so leaving it alone.
The North 40+ on sportsbet dropped from $12 to $9 within an hour or two so looks like there's a lot of late money for Roos

#244 Posted: 7/7/2012 1:42:50 AM Are Roos gonna fold and get run over???
10 minutes ago I was wishing I'd played that, now I'm glad I didn't. Even though Eagles need a 30 point final quarter turnaround to cover.
Gonna take a shot on the Swans 1-39, hopefully Lions can continue their decent form and keep it under a respectable 40 points. I would figure the opening line was pretty spot on at -29.5 the line has moved almost a goal to -34.5 in the last few days so not having any of that. Swans to win by 25 or so.
Swans 1-39 1u @ 2.30

BRISBANE LIONS TO NOT MAKE THE 8!!!!!
What another insipid weekend. I think I need to ditch this Jamiee avatar, she's not a goddess of punting, she's an evil large toothed succubus who has cursed my AFL season. Like a dead albatross around my neck.

Think North will get outclassed here, not sure how much impact Murphy will have on return after 6-8? weeks out. Only advantage I see for the Roos is it being at Etihad but they stopped against the Eagles again. I doubt their fitness issues have improved in a week. Carlton may not pile on goals but they can nullify a mediocre team like North.

I like Carlton also.
With Carrazo and Murphy back playing I think they will get back to playing some decent footy. North have only played well twice all season, hopefully tonight isn't the third time. |
