It didn't used to be like that WSC. I'm 50, when I was a kid I used to walk huge distances and nobody ever bothered me. What has changed in our society that we need cameras on every corner and kids can't be unsupervised.

Agree here..

But now my first thought was how and why was a child walking down the street like this and where is their parent?

When we were kids parents werent involved at all, we would come and go whenever and have no concern about safety. 

Now I dont let my kiddo go out in front of our house unless someone is watching...

'Guess that's another freedom that we used to enjoy that's gone in todays society. I wonder if removing God from the public school system has anything to do with this. It's been about 30 years since prayer was removed from the schools. Coincidence? People sure have seemed to lose any sense of a moral compass that obviously existed when I was 10-15 years old. A sad society continues to spiral downward.

Anyone ever hear of anyone religious going on a senseless mass shooting (save the abortion doctor/clinics, at least they have a purpose) or the extreme Islamists (their just brainwashed into hating anyone that's an infidel). I'm talking about the Columbine's, Aurora's, Scarborough, etc.
