#1 Posted: 4/28/2012 2:10:06 PM On ESPN they had a poll last night and most people thought that BHop would win, I don't know anyone who thinks he can win. I think Chad will win a easy decision, Benard has never been stopped (unless you count the last fight) so its hard to see a stoppage (add to that Chad is not a KO fighter), Bernard will look the same as Tarver did against Chad, he will try to not get KO'd so he can fight on and make more money. |

Chad easily beat Hopkins even with all the holding and clinching and grabbing and headbutts.
Hopkins was doing anything he could do to slow the fight down adn make it ugly.
Chad had no other options or ways to fight that match. He did what he could and was victorious.

EVERYONE knew that fight would suck, I still can't believe they made that fight, its hard to look good against BHop. Chad isn't the most exciting fighter either.

#13 Posted: 4/29/2012 5:33:58 PM well said.
although he got flustered for a round after the intentional hopkins headbut, he setteld in very nicely, showed great composure and dominated the middle rounds en route to a solid victory. he never lost focus as he often does in some of his fights. dawson, scully and shaw were here to win, not appease the people that bet on him to win by stoppage.
i thought this was dawsons best win. i figure the only people that might think otherwise were the people who bet the under or some ill-advised bet on dawson stopping hopkins.
the 114-114 scorecards is now like seven consecutive fights(major) in a row where you can visibly see the corruption in boxing. |
