I agree that Floyd will take the easy way in order to produce more money and increase his fighting longevity and minimize any short term and long term damage.
As long as you have no national boxing commission with full oversight and control, corruption at the highest and lowest levels will exist easily. The main monster and culprit is.... the FANS! As long as they believe the BS on HBO 24/7 and constant advertising to increase a fights PPV revenue, and people are stupid enough to keep paying, this is what you will get.
Modern day athletes are business men and marketers more than athletes.
I only watch a few professional sports anymore, but as a kid I remember NBA teams played a full game and not just the last two minutes. I remember the days when NFL coaches weren't even judged by media or staffing at the very minimal until after their entire first year, but now just over 1/3 of the season passes by and the team is off to a bad start of 2-4 are already in the media with the coach considered in the HOT seat and very soon to be on the chopping block. At least college athletics has priorities and must perform all year to be considered as a possible professional.
Boxing has gotten to be the ultimate joke and people buy these $59.99 PPV events that are not close to competitive and wouldn't even make the Tuesday Night Fights fight card two decades prior.

BACK TO FLOYD... he has followed the modern day self-marketing athlete and apparently he has pulled it off as he is ranking #1 in revenues. If these fighters were not millionaires, and had a contract fight for $3 million with winner take all, you would see fights. As a extra incentive, if a fighter won by knockout they would earn $5 million, you would see some serious old school fight to death matches. I said $4 million then to $6 million as you would get to much fighter collusion to cheat so that they could split the shares. Not to lose the context regarding Floyd, but you have to consider motives and a persons goals. Apparently Floyd has a clear-cut motive, get paid with little risk and keep it flowing as long as he can.
Floyd a coward? No. His motives are different. Take NFL running backs and use Walter Payton as the role model who always hit corner backs and didn't run out of bounce. Now star NFL running backs have salaries so high that they are told to run out of bounce and avoid getting hurt as the risk vs reward is not worth it. So in comparison, you would be calling 90% of NFL RB's of today cowards!
Floyd has the skills and IQ to beat everyone, and it is upsetting to see such skills wasted on nothing more than a sparring match for $100 million + >>>

Dehoyos..... STFU.  Ur a Chavez fan...go figure. He sucks.  His turtle style defense?  Ur a friggin idiot.  Thats the best defense there is and anybody who can perfect it usually wins.  Adrien broner is doing the same thing and is rolling now.  Mexican fighters are just crazy tough guys no doubt.l. But for the most part they suck... Now shut up about Floyd mayweather.

you're sorry as hell,

floyd has been dominating your mexican fighters for over a decade, and if he wanted too, he could make it two decades.

Nearly a year goes by, why not make a new thread? Do they give awards for the longest running posts on this site? I'm being serious, not sarcastic.

I noticed being a Chavez fan, my favorite fighter has been JMM for along time. I think JMM brings everything he has to every fight, unlike almost any fighter. Chavez was known for the same but he was easily exposed by Whitaker, Randall, and destroyed by Oscar. At the lighter weights Oscar is very under-rated. Being a natural lefty and fighting Orthodox, his size against small fighters allowed his jab to dominate even Chavez if he was in his prime. Oscar couldn't carry power past welterweight due to his training from early age not allowing a power punch when you can penetrate a jab (the good with the bad).

Castillo 1st fight was very close and Floyd was young and not yet a veteran. In those early days he was offensive... now he is both, anda master of both. Repeating a post from years ago I don't comprehend. You posted the subject, and continue to keep a dying thread with no new information instead of focusing on the current. Chavez tried to keep his dying career going after he was easily exposed and we know how that turned out. If Castillo KOd Floyd, or destroyed him I could see, but many fights are to close and it depends on viewpoints... it's not 100%. You want that, just KO everyone and you won't get robbed. Manny vs JMM part 2 was very close. I agreed, but it was to the point it could be viewed the other way.

If Castillo once did what Oscar did to Chavez twice... then I could see. Otherwise like a former college football coach said... "Maybe we lost on a bad call the last play, but if we truly much better we would win by enough that bad calls wouldn't effect us. So clearly, we are equally matched, and bad calls are a part of the game." That was a bold statement after a terrible call, but it had merit.

Only once in boxing, a fighter loss decisevely and said it. That was Chris Byrd former Heavyweight Champ. That shows strength in the character of a leader and real man and competitor.

Do they monitor this site? If so, a dead thread should be GONE!
