Equals one of the best tournies in recent history for me.

There were no buzzer-beaters, but there was a hell of a lot of great games and HUGE comebacks. One of the deepest tournies I've ever seen. The quality of play was amazing.

Cincy-Fsu
Osu-Kansas
Marquette-Murray state
Osu-Cincy
Fla-Lville
ND-X
X-Lehigh
2 15 seeds winning
FSU-St Bonnies
UNC - Kansas
Osu-Gonzaga
Cuse-Wisc
Wisc-Vandy
Ohio- s.fla
Unc-ohio
Kansas-purdue

This tourny was sick!!

Boring in relation to what?  The opening round gave us 2 15's over 2's and nearly the first ever 16 over 1 which came down right to the wire.  1/3 of the sweet 16 field were 'upset' teams, including 11 seed NCSU and 13 seed Ohio both reached the round of 16.  Florida, a 7 nearly made the final 4 and Louisville a 4, did.  Only 1 no. 1 seed made the final 4.  The tournament runner up had to come from behind in every single game after the first round, 3 of which from double digits.

Too often people confuse good game with good ending.  Its easy for the average fan to watch the last 4 minutes of a game if its close.  It takes good games to make average fans watch wire to wire without losing focus.  A buzzer beater is a play thats generally a 10-15 second long play.  The scoreboard shows UNC got run out of the gym against Kansas, but the first 36 minutes that was IMO one of the 5 most entertaining games of the tournament.  There were also tons of opportunities for buzzer beaters, they were just missed.  Creighton/Bama, Cuse/Wisconsin, the fact that they didn't go in didn't change the fact that the end of game situation caused a drama filled moment.

Also, Cinderellas are overrated.  They're awesome for a round, but for the most part they only create bad and 'unexciting' basketball later.  Butler/Uconn was a nice Cinderella matchup last year, how'd that go?  Norfolk state provided us a major upset, one of the more exciting games of the tournament.  What happened next?  They came back to earth and got run out of the gym against Florida in front of like 2 dozen people, I was there.  If this final 4 is 'boring' then i'll take boring all day over watching bad cinderellas play.  Everyone likes the upsets because they like the idea of something surprising happening.  But once the ball is tipped, its rarely ever as good as the anticipation.  I wanna watch the best ball, the most talent, the best overall games.  That's gained from watching the titans square off.
