Despite Cutler's notoriety, he only had an
80.4 QB rating, 12 td's and 10 int's.

Alex Smith had a
104.1 QB rating, 13 td's and 5 int's

You can deduct a couple of things from those numbers.

1)  Smith's loss for the 49'ers is greater than the Bear's loss of Cutler.

or

2)  San Fran protected Smith better than the Bears protected Cutler.  Although the Bears gave up 28 sacks and 49'ers gave up 29.

Kaepernick was used more as a gimmick qb this year and never turned the ball over.  He also never scored a TD.  He's 6 years younger than Jason Campbell.  Probably has better wheels.  A lot more potential in this guy.

Campbell was decent with Oakland the last 2 years he was there.  13 td's - 8 int's in 2010  and 6 td's and 4 int's in 2011 in 6 games.  Will Chicago's offensive line be able to protect him?  They couldn't protect Cutler, and he was pretty mobile.

Better wheels....much much better...Campbell proved he sucks...Kasper has mad skills but just a child...at Nevada he made Boise sweat whenever he played them...

i think campbell has to be considered the better qb tonight but SF needs a QB less, not based on the numbers, but because they are so solid everywhere, and most importantly at OL, DL and coach.  in other words, if both qb's play badly, i think SF can withstand it better.

Thoughts on SF - 2 1/2  1H CD?  No extra juice and under a fg.  All I can picture is a 7 - 6 lead on a late Bears FG though.  Think I'm passing all together, too many variables.  Still think the Niners dominate them for the same reasons you stated, better overall team, coach, and at home.  BOL

22, too much going on here for me.  i'm going to stay away.  all i can say is i'd bet SF at 3 -110 or so and i wouldn't bet the under.  but i decided not to bet this one already.  i see -3 -135 and that's too expensive for a game with two backups in their first start.  good luck.

Thanks CD I've decided just to watch myself, but expect the Niners to win and even cover that original 7.  No need to ruin a small winning weekend in the NFL, I don't get a lot of them lately.

Yes.
I just couldn't quite fathom how bad he is until I watched him tonite. He simply brings nothing to the table. He keeps waiting to hand the ball off to Cadillac Williams, but he isn't there. Neither is Ronnie Brown.

don't sleep on campbell next week.  i don't know who they play yet but if everyone thinks he can't win, there might be some value.  he just played houston and SF, probably the two best defenses in the nfl.  if he can get a decent matchup, the bears might be a good play at a decent number.
