#1 Posted: 5/30/2012 8:32:48 PM I'm going in late June with my fiancee and 4 buddies and their wives...I know it sounds less than Ideal but it should be alright.
We are staying at the Aria for 5 nights.
Do you really not drink for free in the Casino's? I read somewhere that you get drink vouchers for like every $200 sports bet you make....how does it work on the casino floor?
Anything that has to be done or random tips? |

#2 Posted: 5/30/2012 8:42:50 PM you still get drinks while playing table games/slots/etc, just most books have done away with them

#3 Posted: 5/30/2012 10:26:23 PM Uncle Gimp is right...horse players may still get drinks, but not other sports betters. As far as the casino floor is concerned, yes, cocktail waitresses will get you a "free" drink of your choice, but if you want another, don't forget to tip her!

#5 Posted: 6/1/2012 12:30:53 PM The amount of money it takes to get one drink ticket in a sportsbook differs from book to book....it even differs drastically in each MGM property....as others have said, the ONLY place to consistently give out free booze without you making a bet is The Bellagio....you can get plowed on top shelf booze for a $1 tip..... |

Just an observation.........There is nothing FREE about a drink if you are playing table games or slots.
To reiterate.....You do NOT have to make a bet at The Bellagio to get free booze....just sit down in one of those lovely leather chairs and give the girl a buck |

I get your point, but technically the drinks are free. The money you're paying is for whatever game you're playing. The drinks themselves are entirely free. |

#10 Posted: 6/2/2012 1:05:30 AM I wish I had a dollar for every "free drink" I have gotten. The worst is to sit down at a $25 dollar table and throw $500 out there. Order your free drink and be broke before it comes. Brutal.

Zoltan.....whether you win or lose at the table, the drink is not free. Tell you what....next time you're in Vegas, sit down at the BJ table, don't give the dealer any money; but ask for a drink first BEFORE you bet or fork over your cash to the dealer.
Bellagio sportsbook....FREE BOOZE....no betting required..... |

#12 Posted: 6/3/2012 4:52:53 PM Just returned yday and I can vouch for MGM when I say all you have to do is stand around spectating a roulette table where there is a few players and you will get drinks. Tip a dollar they return. |

#13 Posted: 6/3/2012 4:54:16 PM Oh and maybe it helps if you have some chips in hand...whether you use them or not, but make them somewhat visible. |

Ya, I've even just stood behind my buddy at a table watching him play and the waitress will still ask me if I want a drink. |

#16 Posted: 6/4/2012 3:59:28 PM The easiest quickest way is to just sit at the bar slots at the MGM, play for 25 cents - dollar and tip the bartender. A whole lot cheaper than playing the table games.
The bar at the MGM sportsbook has bar slots as well and I've never had an issue getting "free drinks" while playing black jack for 25 cents. |

#18 Posted: 6/5/2012 3:30:21 AM Depending how tactical you are about sports betting, the Aria has 20 cent MLB lines (less than ideal). But the Cantor books offer 10 cent lines (Cosmopolitan, Venetian, Tropicana, Palms) |
