Tiger Woods will make his return to competitive golf for the first time since withdrawing from The Masters last April when he participates in the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club.

No matter how long Tiger’s golf odds are for the upcoming tourney, bettors will flock to put dollars on golf’s GOAT. And make no mistake, Woods is a longshot when it comes to the Genesis Invitational odds

Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are the betting favorites heading into this event, and with a litany of golfers playing well right now, Tiger’s chances to win the tournament he hosts (something he has never accomplished) are pretty slim.

So, what are the best ways to bet Tiger Woods odds this week? I dig through the markets and bring you my favorite Tiger Woods picks and predictions for the Genesis Invitational.

Tiger Woods pre-tournament best bet

It’s always hard to get true betting value with Tiger Woods due to the sheer volume of wagers he typically sees. Even his odds at +17,500 to win the Genesis Open might be a little light. Heck, I’m seeing some odds as low as +9,000.

Either way, like I said, he’s a long shot to win. However, that doesn’t mean he can’t have some success, particularly early in the tournament.

Since that horrific car accident a few years ago, the common theme for Woods when he plays is that the longer he's on the course, the worse his leg gets. In that case, targeting some early-round props seems to be the best place to start when it comes to betting on Tiger.

Woods knows this course inside and out, and even in his limited playing time, he’s still hit some good shots here. He’s played the Genesis Invitational three times in the last five years (2019, 2020, and 2023) and has had five birdies or better in Round 1 twice, including last year.

At even money, let’s take a shot on Tiger to get four or more birdies in Round 1 this time around.

Pick: 4+ birdies in Round 1 (+100 at FanDuel)

Tiger Woods Round 1 prop pick

If Tiger sinks enough birdies to win the first bet, he’ll be within striking distance of the second. Despite having to battle injuries, Woods was still able to shoot a 2-under 69 in the opening round last year. That score had him at T27 following the first round, and one more birdie would have landed Woods in the Top 20.

Woods was also coming off a long layoff in that instance as well, with his previous competitive round coming in the 2022 Open Championship. I also think the smaller field (70 players are teeing it up this weekend) could help here if Woods can limit the mistakes.

Pick: Top-20 finish after Round 1 (+220 at bet365)

Tiger Woods cut prop pick

Tiger should start the tournament strong and carry that momentum into the weekend. Despite not playing much golf in recent years, Woods has made the cut in five out of six tournaments since the 2022 Masters, including last year's event.

Making the cut would be a massive step in the right direction for Woods, who has stated that he wants to start ramping up his playing schedule with The Masters right around the corner.

On top of that, Woods just announced the release of his new apparel brand Sun Day Red following leaving Nike after 27 years with the company. It would be a big letdown if we didn’t see the new gear showcased on Sunday.

Pick: To make the cut (-125 at DraftKings)
