Blues 6, Coyotes 3: Patrik Berglund scored twice in a 2:12 span to begin a three-goal outburst in the second period and Chris Stewart matched a career high with four points as visiting St. Louis snapped a two-game slide.

Rookie goaltender Jake Allen made 23 saves to improve to 4-1-0 and David Perron collected three assists for the Blues, who won for the second time in five games and moved back into playoff position in the crowded Western Conference. Scott Nichol followed Berglund with his first goal, defenseman Alex Pietrangelo notched a tally and an assist and Stewart and Vladimir Sobotka also scored for St. Louis.

David Moss scored the Coyotes' first short-handed goal of the season, while captain Shane Doan and defenseman Keith Yandle also tallied for Phoenix, which had won four of its previous five games at home. Mike Smith made 23 saves and fell to 6-4-0 with an .869 save percentage at Jobing.com Arena.

Berglund tied it 2-2 when he collected his own rebound and sent a wrist shot past Smith at 5:47 of the second period. He put the Blues ahead for good 2:12 later with his 11th goal as he took a pass from Perron, kicked the puck to his stick and beat Smith with a backhander from the slot.

Doan, who wears No. 19, scored with 19:19 left in the second period, when he collected a loose puck at the right hash marks and beat Allen with a wrist shot. Moss made it 1-1 with 1:06 left in the opening session, when he squeezed a shot through Allen on a breakaway.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Perron originally had a career-high four assists, but one was taken away after the game and credited to Stewart, who has recorded six points in his last two games. Stewart posted his first four-point performance against the Blues on March 6, 2010 while with Colorado. ... St. Louis, which improved to 2-4-1 against Pacific Division teams, matched a season high in goals. ... The Blues, who had the second-best power play in the NHL at 27.8 percent entering the contest, went 0-for-3 and are 1-for-22 in their last nine games.
