Predators 5, Stars 4 (OT): Defenseman Roman Josi capped a career-high four-point performance with his second goal of the night 28 seconds into overtime as host Nashville rallied for its second win in six games.
With Jaromir Jagr heading to the bench for a change after breaking his stick, the Predators stormed into the offensive zone and took advantage of a short-handed Dallas squad. Sergei Kostitsyn dished the puck to Josi, whose blast from above the left faceoff circle deflected off the stick of Jamie Benn and past Dallas netminder Cristopher Nilstorp.
Craig Smith, Mike Fisher and Patric Hornqvist also scored, Kostitsyn and captain Shea Weber added two assists apiece and Pekka Rinne made 20 saves for Nashville, which had been shut out in its previous two contests.
Loui Eriksson had a goal and an assist, Matt Fraser, Reilly Smith and Vernon Fiddler added goals and Nilstorp stopped 26 shots for the Stars. Michael Ryder recorded three assists for Dallas, which has won just once in four games (1-2-1).
Nashville carried a 1-0 lead into the second period, when Dallas erupted for four goals - including two during a double-minor on Fisher for high-sticking. Hornqvist got the Predators within one goal during a power play with 6:17 remaining in the period and Fisher atoned for his infraction at 8:22 of the third, splitting the defense and slipping a backhander between Nilstorp's pads.
