Penguins 3, Jets 1: Craig Adams recorded his second career two-goal performance and dropped the gloves with James Wright to help visiting Pittsburgh avenge an early-season loss in Winnipeg.

Adams, who also tallied twice against Columbus on March 10, 2003, opened the scoring and added an empty-net goal while also fighting Wright at 5:42 of the second period after the latter hit Penguins defenseman Matt Niskanen. James Neal added his team-leading 11th goal on a 5-on-3 in the third and Marc-Andre Fleury made 25 saves for his seventh victory of the season.

Captain Andrew Ladd scored his team-leading seventh goal with the Jets' net empty late in the game to spoil Fleury’s shutout bid, but Winnipeg lost defenseman and leading scorer Tobias Enstrom to an upper-body injury. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 25 shots for the Jets, who defeated Pittsburgh 4-2 in Winnipeg on Jan. 25.

Enstrom left the game during his first shift after hitting the boards awkwardly with his left shoulder. Adams struck 3:19 into the opening period with his first goal of the season, banging in a rebound after Joe Vitale drove toward the net from the left-wing boards and drew Pavelec out of position.

Fleury made 14 saves in the second period and Neal extended Pittsburgh’s lead after two Winnipeg defensemen took penalties less than 30 seconds apart. Neal one-timed a pass from Evgeni Malkin past Pavelec to make it 2-0. Ladd’s backhander with 95 seconds remaining gave the Winnipeg crowd some hope, but Adams’ empty-netter made sure it was short-lived.
