FLYERS 5, FLAMES 4 (SO): Rookie Matt Read scored in the fifth round of the shootout and Ilya Bryzgalov stopped four of five attempts as visiting Philadelphia rallied from a three-goal deficit to upend Calgary.

Jakub Voracek scored and defensemen Braydon Coburn, Nicklas Grossman and Kimmo Timonen also tallied for the Flyers, who pulled back into a tie with Pittsburgh for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

Alex Tanguay converted a penalty shot and defenseman Mark Giordano, Matt Stajan and Tom Kostopoulos also tallied for the Flames, who secured a point in 10 of their last 11 games (5-1-5) to move to within one of eighth place in the Western Conference.

After All-Star Claude Giroux extended the shootout by scoring in the third round, Read ended the bonus session by wristing the puck past Miikka Kiprusoff and into the right corner of the net.

After Timonen helped Philadelphia erase a three-goal deficit by converting a 5-on-3 penalty, Tanguay regained the lead just over three minutes later.

Defenseman Pavel Kubina was called for a slashing penalty on a breakaway - and Tanguay made no mistake by tucking the puck past Bryzgalov.

Grossman then netted his first as a member of the Flyers 92 seconds later to tie the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Philadelphia surrendered the first goal of the game for the seventh straight contest and 10 in 11 matches when Giordano blasted a shot just the high slot just 3:45 into the first period. ... Both Jaromir Jagr and Kubina exited with respective injuries, but returned shortly thereafter
