Evander Kane scored two goals - his first in eight games - and Ondrej Pavelec made 32 saves as the Winnipeg Jets snapped the Colorado Avalanche's eight-game home winning streak with a 4-1 victory on Tuesday.

Tim Stapleton added a power-play goal and Jim Slater also scored for the Jets, who were playing only their second road game since Nov. 26 and improved to 7-3-1 in their last 11 games. The Jets have alternated wins and losses in their last nine.

Pavelec snapped a seven-game road losing streak as the Jets won for the fifth time in their last six trips to Colorado. Kevin Porter scored with 5:12 remaining to spoil Pavelec's shutout bid.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere, the NHL's third star last week, made 22 saves for the Avalanche, who had also won five straight overall. Giguere had his four-game winning streak snapped and fell to 6-2-0 at home.

Kane's second goal came at 14:52 of the second period, moments after Giguere stopped him point-blank. The play continued and Kane took a feed from Chris Thorburn on the doorstep and deposited it past Giguere for his 17th goal of the season and ninth two-goal game of his career.

Kane also beat Giguere with a wrist shot at 16:37 of the first period.

The winning streak was Colorado's longest since the franchise moved from Quebec in 1995.
