Recap

Vincent Lecavalier scored a power-play goal late in the second period and Dwayne Roloson made 11 of his 28 saves in the third period as the Tampa Bay Lightning blanked the visiting Winnipeg Jets 1-0 on Saturday.

It was the 29th career shutout for Roloson and first of the season as the Lightning (5-4-2) extended their win streak over the Jets’ franchise to 12 games. Winnipeg (3-6-1), which moved from Atlanta after last season, has not beaten the Lightning since Oct. 3, 2009.

Winnipeg goalie Ondrej Pavelec, who gave up seven goals in Philadelphia on Thursday, was outstanding through the first 39 minutes with 23 saves. But Lecavalier caught Pavelec off his post, after he tracked down the rebound of Steven Stamkos’ blast, and scored from the bottom of the right circle with 39.2 seconds left in the second.

Roloson was sharp in his first start since Oct. 17, making 10 saves in the first period and coming up with a big skate save on an Evander Kane breakaway with just under 7 minutes left in the second.

Stamkos extended his points streak to six games for the Lightning, who are 15-of-15 on the penalty kill in their wins.
