Recap

Marian Hossa matched a career high with a goal in his fifth straight game and Patrick Kane’s shootout score lifted the Chicago Blackhawks to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.

Kane and Jonathan Toews' shootout goals were the first of the season for Chicago, which put in extra practice on it Monday.

Patrick Sharp also scored in regulation for the Blackhawks (5-1-2), who have a point in seven straight games (5-0-2).

Teemu Selanne scored his 640th career goal to move into a tie for 13th on the all-time goals list with Dave Andreychuk and Ryan Getzlaf scored his third goal in two games for the Ducks (4-3-1), who have lost three straight. Selanne also scored in the shootout.

Hossa hit the post twice, including one as time ran out in overtime. He was also robbed by Jonas Hiller from close range with 2:28 left in regulation.

Hiller, who was pulled after allowing five goals on 19 shots against Phoenix on Sunday, also denied Michael Frolik on the doorstep midway through the third period and finished with 33 saves.

Sharp scored at 5:57 of the third period to tie the game 2-2 and extend his point streak to five games, and Kane assisted on both Chicago goals to snap a three-game pointless streak. One came on a blind pass to Hossa following a spin-o-rama move.

Getzlaf’s goal in the first period was only the second power-play goal allowed by Chicago this season.

Corey Crawford made 29 saves for Chicago.
