Recap
Patrick Kane continued his dominance over the Winnipeg franchise with a goal and two assists as the Chicago Blackhawks rallied for a 4-3 win over the visiting Jets on Thursday.
Kane, limited to a pair of assists in Chicago's home-and-home series with Dallas to open the year, gave the Jets fits all night long. The 22-year-old has four goals and six assists in five career games against the club, which relocated from Atlanta during the offseason.
After Jim Slater put Winnipeg up 2-0 with a pair of first-period deflections, the Blackhawks stormed back with goals by Andrew Brunette and Kane to draw even.
Marian Hossa's goal, coming in his 900th career game, put Chicago in front for the first time just 33 seconds into the second period. The star winger converted a one-time pass from Nick Leddy past Jets netminder Ondrej Pavelec for his first of the season.
Dave Bolland extended the lead before Winnipeg's Kyle Wellwood trimmed the deficit late in the period, firing a desperation shot between his legs that caromed off Chicago goalie Ray Emery and into the net.
Winnipeg's Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien were held without a point in their first visit to Chicago since helping the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup in 2010. The two were dealt to the Thrashers the following offseason in a cost-cutting move.
