Recap

Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi each had goals to christen Minnesota's new top line as the Wild earned a 4-2 victory over the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.

Matt Cullen and Marco Scandella each added goals and Pierre-Marc Bouchard recorded a pair of assists for the Wild, who brought in Heatley and Setoguchi in separate trades with the San Jose Sharks over the summer.

After finishing 26th in scoring last season, Minnesota made the effort to beef up the top line, putting Heatley and Setoguchi on the wings with Captain Mikko Koivu at center. That line got going in the second period, turning a 2-0 game into an easy win when Heatley scored on the power play at the 10:40 mark.

Heatley and Koivu each recorded assists on Setoguchi’s blast from the left circle with 1:09 left in the second.

Niklas Backstrom, who won only two of his final 14 appearances while dealing with a hip injury at the end of the 2010-11 campaign, made 29 saves for the Wild.

Steve Mason allowed four goals on 23 shots for the Blue Jackets.
