John White scored three touchdowns and Reggie Dunn notched his fourth career kickoff return touchdown as the host Utes walloped the Cougars in Pac-12 play.

White rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns and also caught an 18-yard scoring pass from Travis Wilson, while Dunn returned the second-half kickoff 100 yards for his third return score in the last two games.

White’s 47-yard scoring run with 9:04 left in the first quarter started Utah (4-5, 2-4 Pac-12 South) on its way to a second consecutive victory. White added a 2-yard scoring run early in the second quarter and his touchdown reception 21 seconds before halftime gave the Utes a 31-0 advantage.

Washington State (2-7, 0-6 Pac-12 North) has lost six consecutive contests and failed on each of its first 10 third-down opportunities before finally converting one late in the third quarter. The Cougars avoided being blanked when Jeff Tuel threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Kristoff Williams on the final play of the game.

Wilson completed 17 of 21 passes for 171 yards and also threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Max Maola in the first quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Utes held the Cougars to minus-4 rushing yards. … Washington State receiver Marquess Wilson caught five passes for 73 yards to raise his career reception total to 189, six shy of the school record held by Michael Bumpus (2004-07). … Utah is 11-0 when White rushes for 100 or more yards.
