Tulsa 28, Rice 24: Alex Singleton's 1-yard touchdown run with 1:31 remaining gave the Golden Hurricane a win over the visiting Owls.

Ja'Terian Douglas' 75-yard run to the 5-yard line set up the winning score. Singleton gained 4 yards on first down and scored on the next play to cap the three-play, 80-yard drive.

Tulsa (7-1, 5-0 Conference USA) trailed most of the game, but avoided the upset bid by Rice (2-6, 0-4). Singleton's late score gave the Golden Hurricanes their only lead.

Rice's Sam McGuffie blocked a punt and returned it 12 yards for a touchdown for a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. The game was tied on two occasions before Chris Boswell's 35-yard field goal with 9:24 remaining gave Rice a 24-21 lead.

Douglas gained 169 yards on 17 carries and one touchdown, while Singleton ran for two scores for Tulsa. Luke Turner gained 102 yards on 15 carries, while quarterback Taylor McHargue threw for one touchdown and ran for another score for Rice.
