UCLA 42, Colorado 14:
Freshman quarterback Brett Hundley rushed for two touchdowns and threw for two more as the visiting Bruins bounced back from their first loss of the season with a much-improved defensive effort.

Johnathan Franklin had 111 yards rushing for UCLA (4-1, 1-1 Pac-12) and the defense held Colorado (1-4, 1-1) to 309 yards - 83 rushing - after yielding 501 in its 27-20 loss to Oregon State last week. Hundley finished 25-of-38 for 281 yards and completed passes to 11 different receivers, including three for 48 yards to Franklin.

The Bruins took a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter when Hundley's 17-yard touchdown pass to Darius Bell capped a 10-play, 88-yard drive. Hundley scored untouched from the 1-yard line with 2:14 remaining in the first half to make it 21-7 after his 12-yard run opened the scoring in the first quarter.

Colorado quarterback Jordan Webb was 21-of-32 for 184 yards with a touchdown and an interception before giving way to Nich Hirschman, who threw his first career TD pass in the fourth quarter.

UCLA pulled away in the second half when Hundley connected with tight end Joseph Fauria for an 8-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter. Jordon James (25 yards) and Damien Thigpen (23 yards on an end-around) added rushing touchdowns in the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Franklin entered the game third in the nation with 586 yards rushing. ... UCLA's Damien Holmes had three sacks. ... Fauria is the nephew of Christian Fauria, who starred at Colorado before embarking on a 13-year NFL career, highlighted by a pair of Super Bowl championships with New England.
