Robert Marve rushed in from the 1-yard line in the first overtime to give host Purdue a 26-23 victory over Ohio State on Saturday.

Ralph Bolden rushed for over 80 yards and a touchdown for the Boilermakers (5-5, 3-3 Big Ten), who snapped a two-game losing streak.

The Buckeyes got the first chance in overtime and ended up with a 33-yard field goal. It looked like Purdue would have the same fate when it was down to 3rd-and-12 at the Ohio State 15-yard line. But Marve completed a 14-yard pass to Gary Bush for the first down and rushed in on the next play.

Ohio State was having trouble running the ball until its final drive, when Dan Herron, Jordan Hall and Braxton Miller combined to rush for 46 yards. Miller capped the drive with his arm, hitting Hall with a 13-yard score to knot it at 20-20 with 55 seconds left.

But Drew Basil had the extra point attempt blocked and Marve was intercepted on the ensuing possession for Purdue, sending the game to overtime.

The Boilermakers led 17-7 at the half but the Buckeyes (6-4, 3-3) chipped away, getting a rushing touchdown from Miller in the third quarter to pull within 17-14.
