Cameron Marshall rushed for three touchdowns and Brock Osweiler passed for two scores as No. 20 Arizona State cruised to a 48-14 victory over visiting Colorado on Saturday.
The Sun Devils (6-2, 4-1 Pac-12 South) scored three first-quarter touchdowns and were never threatened by the Buffaloes (1-8, 0-5 Pac-12 South), who lost their 22nd consecutive road game.
Arizona State showed its dominance from the outset with 222 yards in the opening quarter and moved closer to the division crown and a spot in the inaugural Pac-12 title game.
Marshall rushed for 114 yards on 15 carries and scored on runs of 19, 11 and 4 yards.
Osweiler threw touchdown passes of 25 yards to Jamal Miles and 33 yards to Kevin Ozier in the first quarter and completed 18-of-28 passes for 307 yards.
Colorado’s touchdowns came on Josh Moten’s 16-yard fumble return late in the first half and Tyler Hansen’s 21-yard scoring pass to Tony Clemons in the fourth quarter.
Hansen, who was questionable after a concussion against Oregon last week, entered the game on Colorado’s third possession and was 22-of-35 for 285 yards with two interceptions.
The Buffaloes are 0-5 on the road this season with an average losing margin of 28 points.
