Recap

Andrew Luck passed for three touchdowns as No. 4 Stanford extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 13 games with a 48-7 victory over visiting Colorado on Saturday.

Luck threw two scoring passes to tight end Ryan Hewitt as the Cardinal (5-0, 3-0 Pac-12 North) matched the school record for consecutive victories set from 1939-41 and also equaled the program’s best start since 1951.

Colorado (1-5, 0-2 Pac-12 South) has lost 20 straight road games dating back to 2007.

Max Bergen got the Cardinal rolling by blocking a 29-yard field goal attempt by Will Oliver and returning it 75 yards for Stanford’s first points.

The Buffaloes trailed 13-7 after Tyler Hansen tossed a 5-yard scoring pass to Tony Jones before Stanford pulled away by scoring the final 35 points.

Luck was 26-of-33 passing for a season-high 370 yards, including a 30-yard scoring pass to Griff Whalen in the final quarter. The victory was the 25th of his career, surpassing Steve Stenstrom’s school record.

It was the second-highest total in Luck's career, behind a 423-yard performance against Arizona in 2009. He did not play the final 10 minutes Saturday.

Hewitt’s touchdown receptions were 1 and 10 yards. The first one gave Stanford a 27-7 halftime advantage.

Stepfan Taylor, Jeremy Stewart and Tyler Gaffney all scored on 1-yard runs for the Cardinal, who topped 40 points for the fourth time this season.

Colorado’s last eight road losses have been by an average of 27.1 points.

Sophomore Paul Richardson, Colorado's top receiver, did not play because of a knee injury.
