Thunderstorms were the only thing that could slow down the offense of Baylor, which rolled over Stephen F. Austin 48-0 in a rain-delayed meeting at Floyd Casey Stadium on Saturday.

Lightning halted action for 30 minutes in the first half and forced officials to shorten halftime and cut the third and fourth quarters to just 12 minutes rather than the standard 15.

That was more than enough time for the Bears to add to their 31-0 halftime lead. Quarterback Robert Griffin III passed for 238 yards and three touchdowns and added 78 yards on the ground. Running back Terrance Ganaway rushed for 98 yards and a score.

Baylor improved to 4-0 all-time against SFA and has outscored the Lumberjacks 201-0 in four meetings since 1947. It also boosted the Bears’ record to 71-39-2 as a nationally ranked team.

Stephen F. Austin struggled against the Bears’ all night, mustering only 207 yards of total offense. Quarterback Brady Attaway finished with 101 yards passing and an interception. The Lumberjacks put up a respectable 85 yards rushing on 25 carries.

Bears wide receiver Kendall Wright caught eight passes for 105 yards and a touchdown. He’s now only 17 yards away from becoming Baylor’s all-time leader in receiving yards. Gerald McNeil is the current leader with 2,651 yards.
