Henry Josey rushed for 263 yards on 14 carries - all in the first half - and scored three touchdowns as the host Tigers broke school records for total offense and margin of victory in a 69-0 drubbing of Western Illinois on Saturday.
The Tigers piled up 744 yards, shattering the previous record of 665 against Kansas in 1949. The 69-point margin broke the previous mark - a 60-0 win over Centre (Ky.) in 1928. The 69 points tied the school record set in 1969 against Kansas and matched in 2008 against Nevada.
Josey, the only one of Missouri's top four returning backs who is healthy, compiled the fourth-highest total in school history. He sat out the second half, which likely preserved Devin West's school record of 319 yards. Josey had touchdown runs of 6, 21 and 68 yards, and also had runs of 31 and 35 yards.
Missouri's defense allowed 44 total yards. The Leathernecks (1-2) managed only one first down and never crossed midfield.
Sophomore quarterback James Franklin threw three touchdown passes - all in the first half - as Missouri (2-1) built a 42-0 lead.
Missouri improved to 11-0 against FCS opponents, including 8-0 under coach Gary Pinkel.
The Leathernecks dropped to 6-23 against FBS teams. They have lost nine straight such games since a 34-12 victory at Eastern Michigan in 2003, and have never beaten a team from a BCS automatic qualifying conference.
