Junior walk-on Dominique Whaley scored four touchdowns and broke the school record for rushing yards in a career debut as No. 1 Oklahoma cruised to a 47-14 win over visiting Tulsa in Norman, Okla., on Saturday.

The Sooners jumped to a 30-7 halftime lead and extended their home winning streak to 37 games, the longest in the nation.

Whaley had 18 carries for 131 yards and became only the fourth Sooner to have three rushing touchdowns or more in a debut game.

Tulsa closed last season on a seven-game winning streak, but the Golden Hurricane were beaten in all phases Saturday and outgained 663-400 in total yards. Tulsa last defeated Oklahoma in 1996.

Quarterback Landry Jones moved into second on Oklahoma’s all-time career passing yards list while completing 35-of-47 passes for 375 yards and one touchdown.

Jones tied the school record for 300-plus yard passing games in a career at 14 and became only the second Sooner to throw for 8,000 yards (Sam Bradford: 8,403).

The Golden Hurricane played without suspended receiver Damaris Johnson, the NCAA record holder in all-purpose yardage and return yards.

Tulsa's G.J. Kinne completed 18-of-32 passes for 271 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
