Bilal Powell rushed for 204 yards and two touchdowns to fuel host Louisville’s 56-0 rout of Memphis on Saturday at Papa John’s Cardinals Stadium.

Cardinals quarterback Adam Froman threw four touchdown passes in the first half, helping Louisville build a commanding 35-0 halftime lead.

With the win, Louisville improves to 3-2 and heads into Big East play on a two-game winning streak.

Memphis (1-5) continues to struggle and was out-gained by more than 350 yards. The Tigers have lost three straight games under first-year head coach Larry Porter and suffered their first shutout since a 3-0 loss to Mississippi in 1999.

Powell scored on runs of 74 and 10 yards and eclipsed 200 yards on only 18 carries. Josh Bellamy caught six passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns for Louisville, which racked up 574 yards of offense.
