Joshua Nesbitt hit Correy Earls on a 9-yard touchdown pass with 15 seconds to play to help Georgia Tech come from behind to beat Wake Forest 24-20, Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Nesbitt led three scoring drives in the fourth quarter to erase a 17-6 deficit. He threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Embry Peeples on 4th-and-5 to get Jackets within two with seven minutes to play. The Jacket quarterback then scampered in for the tying two-point conversion.

Wake Forest regained the lead on Jimmy Newman's second field goal of the night with 2:20 to play. But Nesbitt led the Jackets down the field and completed the comeback with a strike to Earls on a slant pattern.

Georgia Tech (3-2, 2-1 ACC) has not lost consecutive games in Paul Johnson's three seasons.

Wake Forest (2-3, 1-2 ACC) stymied the Georgia Tech offense for three quarters. The Yellow Jackets entered the game averaging 320 rushing yards, but had just over 100 yards heading into the fourth quarter. They finished with 209 on the ground.

Nesbitt completed 11 of 21 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. He also had a team-high 72 yards rushing.

The Demon Deacons got touchdown runs from Brandon Pendergrass and Josh Adams to build their lead. Adams led Wake Forest with 110 yards rushing.
