Murray was 17-of-26 for 194 yards and completed touchdown passes of 41 yards to Kris Durham, 10 yards to Shaun Chapas and 1 yard to Fred Munzenmaier. Murray also rushed four times for 42 yards, including a 16-yard score, and left early in the third quarter after leading the Bulldogs to a 31-7 halftime lead.

Blair Walsh added field goals of 52 and 48 yards as the Bulldogs nearly tripled the Ragin' Cajuns in total yards, 377-128.

Louisiana-Lafayette's lone score came on a 60-yard touchdown pass from Chris Masson to Ladarius Green. The Ragin' Cajuns lost their 20th straight road season opener.

Georgia's standout wide receiver, A.J. Green, missed the game amid an ongoing NCAA investigation into possible improper benefits. The Bulldogs also played without three players coach Mark Richt suspended for recent arrests: running back Washaun Ealey, wide receiver Tavarres King and safety Alec Ogletree.
