NO. 1 KENTUCKY 79, GEORGIA 49: Kentucky made an SEC-high 15 3-pointers to win its 21st straight game and 52nd consecutive at home.
Three players knocked down three or more 3-pointers for the Wildcats: Darius Miller with five, and Doron Lamb and Kyle Wiltjer with three. Kentucky shot 49.1 percent from the field and 55.6 percent on 3-pointers.
Kentucky (29-1, 15-0 SEC) got 17 points from Miller, 13 from Lamb and 12 points and seven rebounds from Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Anthony Davis and Terrence Jones each had nine points and eight rebounds.
Donte Williams posted 17 points and six rebounds for Georgia (13-16, 4-11 SEC). But the Bulldogs shot only 33.9 percent, including a 2-for-12 effort from leading scorer Gerald Robinson. Georgia made only 3 of 19 3-point tries.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wildcats celebrated Senior Night and started the team’s only two seniors: Miller and Eloy Vargas, who had two points and five assists in his final appearance at Rupp Arena. . . . Kentucky’s bench outscored the Georgia reserves 31-11. . . . Kentucky was so good from the outside, it didn’t need to pound it inside that often. The Wildcats scored only 16 points in the paint.
