Stephen Curry scored a season-high 36 points and the visiting Golden State Warriors handed the Denver Nuggets their fifth straight loss with a 109-101 decision on Thursday.
Curry made 13-of-17 shots - including six 3-pointers - for Golden State. He scored 15 points in the first quarter and 12 in the third period. He also had seven assists and seven rebounds.
Golden State, which dropped a tough 119-116 loss to Oklahoma City on Tuesday, trailed 51-47 at halftime. The Warriors began the third quarter with a 14-2 run and hit 14-of-20 from the field in the period. Golden State led 84-71 going into the fourth quarter.
The Warriors built the lead to 20 points at 100-80 with five minutes left in the game. Denver trimmed the deficit after both teams went to their benches.
Arron Afflalo had 26 points to pace Denver, which has lost seven of its last eight games. The Nuggets again played without leading scorer Danilo Gallinari, who is expected to be out until early March with a chip fracture in his left foot.
Golden State had lost 15 of its previous 16 games in Denver, including six in a row. The Warriors had lost 10 of the pervious 12 meetings with the the Nuggets overall.
Denver has also lost five straight games at home.
Rookie Klay Thompson scored a career-high 19 points for Golden State. He made eight shots in 11 attempts.
Monta Ellis, who scored a career-high 48 points Tuesday, added 14. The Warriors shot 51.0 percent from the field and hit 13 of 25 3-pointers.
