Nene scored 25 points, Al Harrington added 18, and the Denver Nuggets cruised to a 117-100 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz on Wednesday.
Ty Lawson had 15 points as Denver notched its second impressive victory, the first being a 22-point shellacking of the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks on Monday.
Al Jefferson scored 19 points for Utah, which was routed for the second straight night. The Jazz lost by 25 points to the Los Angeles Lakers in their opener on Tuesday.
Nene was 10-of-13 from the field and did a large chunk of his damage as Denver used a 21-6 run over the final 5 1/2 minutes of the first half to pull away. He had 11 points as the Nuggets turned a two-point lead into a 63-46 halftime advantage.
Utah’s last lead was at 20-19 on Jefferson’s basket with just under three minutes left in the opening quarter. Denver rattled off the next nine points and eventually controlled the last 29 1/2 minutes of the contest.
Andre Miller had 12 assists for the Nuggets, who had 17 steals. Harrington had four steals and Nene had three.
Alec Burks tallied 15 points, and Paul Millsap and C.J. Miles scored 13 apiece for the Jazz, who committed 22 turnovers.
