OAKLAND, Calif. -- Ryon Healy went 4-for-4 with two home runs and two doubles, powering the Oakland Athletics to a 10-4 victory against the Washington Nationals at the Oakland Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.

Healy hit a two-run shot in the first inning and a solo blast in the seventh. He tied the Athletics' franchise record of four extra-base hits in a game, a feat that hadn't been accomplished since July 20, 2009, by Matt Holliday against Minnesota. The four hits and two home runs were career highs for Healy, who has 11 homers this season.

The A's also had a two-run homer in the first inning from Jed Lowrie, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a career high-tying four RBIs. Yonder Alonso hit a two-run homer in the seventh, his career-high 16th.

Washington's Adam Lind went 2-for-3 with a double and a three-run homer, his fourth blast of the season. Daniel Murphy had three hits, including a double, for the Nationals, who left 11 runners on base.

Bryce Harper served the third and final game of his suspension for fighting San Francisco Giants reliever Hunter Strickland on Monday after being hit by a pitch.

A's right-hander Daniel Mengden allowed four runs on six hits over 4 2/3 innings and received a no-decision in his second start of the season.

After Mengden exited, Liam Hendriks (2-0), Daniel Coulombe, Ryan Madson and John Axford combined to blank Washington over the final 4 1/3 innings.

Nationals right-hander Joe Ross, who grew up in Oakland, had a rough homecoming in his first career appearance against the A's. Ross (2-2) allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits over three innings. He struck out five, walked two and gave up two home runs.

The A's grabbed a 4-0 lead in the first inning. After shortstop Chad Pinder reached base with one out on catcher's interference, Lowrie launched Ross' 3-2 sinker into the right field seats for his seventh blast.

Alonso singled with two outs, and Healy followed with a two-run shot to right-center.

Washington cut Oakland's lead to 4-1 in the top of the second when Lind doubled, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on Stephen Drew's sacrifice fly.

Oakland responded with two runs in the bottom of the second to make it 6-1. Josh Phegley singled, Matt Joyce walked, and Lowrie lined a two-run double into the right-field corner.

The Nationals sliced Oakland's lead to 6-4 in the third. Murphy blooped a single to left with two outs when Pinder appeared to lose the ball in the sun. Ryan Zimmerman walked, and Lind sent Mengden's 2-2 curve into the right field seats for a three-run homer.

The A's scored a run in the bottom of the third when Alonso walked, moved to third on Healy's double and scored on Stephen Vogt's RBI ground ball that third baseman Stephen Drew booted.

The A's added three runs in the seventh when Khris Davis lined a leadoff single and Alonso and Healy hit back-to-back homers.

NOTES: Nationals DH Jayson Werth fouled a pitch off his left foot in the ninth inning. He left the game for a pinch runner after reaching base on an error. ... Nationals OF Chris Heisey (right biceps rupture) will resume baseball activities after trainers "get some swelling out of his arm," manager Dusty Baker said. Heisey began a minor league rehab assignment Monday but was shut down after a setback. Baker said team doctors still don't believe Heisey will need surgery. ... A's RHP Jesse Hahn (right triceps strain) threw his regular bullpen session Saturday with no issues and said he's on track to come off the disabled list and rejoin the rotation next week, once he gets the OK from manager Bob Melvin. ... A's LHP Sean Doolittle (strained left shoulder) will make his second rehab appearance on Sunday or Monday for Stockton.
