Recap

Tigers 6, Mariners 2:
Miguel Cabrera had three hits and drove in the first four runs to lead Detroit to its third straight road victory.

Victor Martinez also had three hits for the Tigers and Austin Jackson, Torii Hunter and Jhonny Peralta contributed two apiece. Detroit starter Doug Fister (3-0) pitched seven innings, allowing two runs and four hits.

Fister retired the first 10 batters before Kyle Seager doubled to deep center with one out in the fourth. Kendrys Morales followed with a run-scoring double to the gap in right center and he came home on Michael Morse’s single to center for a 2-1 lead.

The Tigers quickly went back ahead in the fifth as Hunter singled and scored on Cabrera’s homer to the opposite field in right-center. After the 32-pitch fourth inning, Fister regained his groove by retiring the side in order in the fifth and sixth innings.

Cabrera knocked in his fourth run in the seventh with a two-out RBI single to left. Seattle starter Aaron Harang (0-1), who was traded twice last week, threw five innings, allowing seven hits, three runs and striking out six.
